For practices
Fill open slots.
No phone calls.
Calenu shows your open times to the people looking right now. It runs alongside your practice software and is free to start.
Principles
Six principles that stay.
How Calenu works for your practice.
Fewer calls at the front desk.
Patients book your open times themselves, around the clock. Your team is free for the people in the practice.
In detail
Fewer calls at the front desk.
- Booking, canceling, rescheduling: patients do it in the app.
- New appointments and cancellations show up in your day view.
Canceled times can be booked again at once.
A canceled time goes back into the list the same second. Whoever is waiting for an earlier appointment with you gets a message.
In detail
Canceled times can be booked again at once.
- If the time starts in less than two hours, everyone waiting hears at once.
- Your phone stays quiet.
The same rules for every practice.
Patients see the soonest open time first, or the nearest practice if they like. Every practice is listed on the same terms.
In detail
The same rules for every practice.
- Your place in the list is your next open time.
- What you pay never changes your place.
Patients come prepared.
Before booking, everyone knows who pays and what to bring. That saves questions at the desk.
In detail
Patients come prepared.
- Statutory, private or self-pay: it is clear before booking.
- Calu says what to bring, such as a referral.
- Everyone sees the cancellation rules you set before they book.
Confidentiality and data protection, in writing.

- Everyone at Calenu who works with your appointments is personally bound to secrecy.
- What is stored and for how long is under Privacy.
One price for everyone. Never per booking.
Calenu is free to start. If a fee comes later, every practice pays the same flat fee.
In detail
One price for everyone. Never per booking.
- No minimum term: you can stop whenever you like.
- Patients always book for free.
What gets in the way
Appointments go unused. People wait.
Often what is missing is the way from an open appointment to the person looking for one. Four figures, each with a source.

How it works
Three steps. Then you are up and running.
All you need is an iPhone or a browser.
01
You release times
In Calenu Praxis on the iPhone, in Calenu Desk in the browser, or with us on the phone. For example: Monday to Thursday, four appointments between 8 and 10 a.m., existing patients only, statutory insurance only. Only what you release is visible.
In detail
You release times
- A release says when and for whom: days, times, how many appointments, everyone or existing patients only, statutory, private or both.
- With it you set the lead time, and whether a booking is confirmed at once or waits for your yes.
02
Patients book
Sorted by time. You get name, date of birth, health insurer, whether the person has been to your practice before, a way to reach them and, if the person wants, one of four reasons: Check-up, Something new, Follow-up, Prescription.
In detail
Patients book
- Before tapping, the person sees whether the time is confirmed at once or a request.
- You learn the reason in one word, if the person picks one.
03
You see the appointment
In Calenu Desk or in Calenu Praxis, as a printout or as a list for Excel. You enter it into your system like an appointment made by phone and check it off. Calenu shows you what is still to enter. Cancellations reach you the same way.
In detail
You see the appointment
- Calenu Praxis can alert your iPhone to each new request.
Cancellations
Every gap in the calendar costs.
When someone cancels at a quarter to nine, the slot usually stays empty. Calenu passes it on at once.
Whoever has waited longest hears first
The five who have waited longest for an earlier appointment with you get the message first, everyone else two minutes later. Whoever says yes first gets the slot.
In detail
Whoever has waited longest hears first
- The order is the same for everyone, with Plus or without.
- The person’s current appointment stays until the new one is confirmed.
Bookable at short notice
You set the lead time. So even an appointment twenty minutes away can still be booked.
In detail
Bookable at short notice
- The lead time runs from zero minutes to one week, set per release.
No-shows are yours to handle
What applies when someone does not show up is up to you, as before.
In detail
No-shows are yours to handle
- If you set a rule for late cancellations, every person sees it before booking.
- The notice period and fee stay on the booking as they were when it was made.
- Canceling in the app takes two taps.
Features
What your front desk gets.
In Calenu Praxis on the iPhone and in Calenu Desk in the browser.
Release times
For everyone or for existing patients only, for statutory insurance only or private too.
In detail
Release times
- Days, times and how many appointments, with the lead time for each release.
- You close a single day in Calenu Praxis. What is booked stays booked.
At once or after your yes
A booking is confirmed at once or waits for your yes. You decide which applies.
In detail
At once or after your yes
- At once: the booking stands, and the person sees it right away.
- After your yes: until you answer, it is a request, and the app says so.
- You answer a request with yes, another time or a no.
The day view
Confirm requests, cancel, check off once the appointment is in your system.
In detail
The day view
- The day’s bookings, requests and cancellations at a glance.
- “Fürs PVS” counts what still belongs in your system.
- In Calenu Desk you export any date range as a list for Excel.
A pause button
New bookings pause at once. What is booked stays booked.
In detail
A pause button
- For a day when the team is out sick, for example.
- In Calenu Praxis and Calenu Desk. You reopen the same way.
Self-pay and series
Mark a release as a self-pay service or make it bookable as a series. Patients see both before booking.
In detail
Self-pay and series
- A series keeps the same time, every week or every two to four weeks.
- Your day view shows which appointment of a series it is.
Checked before launch
Every practice is checked before it goes live, with the date and the source. Patients see what was checked.
In detail
Checked before launch
- You apply for access in the Calenu Praxis app.
- Calenu checks your practice in the matching public register and calls the number listed there.
Data protection and confidentiality
As little as possible. As briefly as possible.
On June 16, 2025, the Datenschutzkonferenz, the joint body of Germany’s data protection authorities, set out what an appointment provider may do. Calenu follows it.
Processing on your behalf under Article 28 GDPR
Calenu processes your practice’s appointments only on your behalf, under a data processing agreement. The person’s account is separate: Calenu itself is the controller for it, with the person’s own consent. The data serves the appointment alone.
In detail
Processing on your behalf under Article 28 GDPR
- You remain the controller for your practice’s appointments. Calenu processes them on your instructions.
Secrecy under § 203 StGB
On top of the agreement, we commit to secrecy under § 203 StGB, with instruction on what it means, and bind every person involved before their first access.
In detail
Secrecy under § 203 StGB
- You get the commitment in writing, with the agreement.
Only what the appointment needs
Name, date of birth, insurance status, whether the person has been to your practice before, type of appointment, a way to reach the person about a cancellation and, if the person wants, one of four reasons.
In detail
Only what the appointment needs
- The four reasons: Check-up, Something new, Follow-up, Prescription.
- About the visit, at most one of these words leaves the person’s phone.
30 days after the appointment, it is gone
Then you no longer see the entry, and a booking without an account is deleted. A person with a Calenu account keeps their appointments there until they delete it. What belongs in the records stays in your system.
In detail
30 days after the appointment, it is gone
- After that, the appointment’s time and status remain, without the person.
- Copy what you need for your records before then, when you enter the appointment or with the export from Calenu Desk.
Servers in Germany
Encrypted in transit and on the server. Appointment and patient data stay in Germany, for maintenance and support too. Push notifications and Sign in with Apple run through Apple, with as little content as the person allows.
In detail
Servers in Germany
- The backups are encrypted too.
- Each practice sees only its own appointments.
Reminders with their own consent
Calenu asks the person directly for consent to appointment reminders, documented separately and revocable at any time. We show you the record on request.
In detail
Reminders with their own consent
- By notification or email, as the person chooses in the settings.
- Every consent is stored with its date and its wording.
Basis: the resolution of the Conference of the Independent Data Protection Supervisory Authorities of the Federal Government and the States (Datenschutzkonferenz) of June 16, 2025, on data protection in appointment management by healthcare practices.
